GOVERNANCE OF PROTTASHA FOUNDATION

PROTTASHA FOUNDATION is a non-government, non-political, non-religious and non-profitable multidimensional development service oriented local level voluntary organization. “PROTTASHA FOUNDATION” the English version of the Bengali words is organization for mitigate of the expectation against problems of human being and emancipation of the people i.e. the people are free from poverty, disparity and exploitation.

Financial Management

To ensure transparent management of finance PROTTASHA FOUNDATION has skilled manpower in finance section. The accounts department of PROTTASHA FOUNDATION  maintains and controls the entire finance and accounting system. It follows standard accounting system using double entry cash and ledger books. PROTTASHA FOUNDATION maintains separate bank account for each of project funded by donors and uses the sign of two signatories out of three against each of bank account. It has regular practice to prepare monthly and quarterly financial report of the donor’s needs. PROTTASHA FOUNDATION audit its finance and accounts by hiring government authorized audit firm annually and has internal control through its system of internal audit by forming internal audit team. PROTTASHA FOUNDATION usually carry out its internal audit each and every project, interventions and activity generally with in twelve months interval and incase of need it has been done any time by breaking the annually auditing practice considering its importance and justification.

Management Structure

The General committee of PROTTASHA FOUNDATIONS consists of 33 members are the supreme authority of the organization. The General committee meets once in a year and has authority to approved yearly program plan and budget, planned activity and review the activity done, organizational performance and audit report. Members of the General committee elected and formed Executive Committee consists of 11 members along with female for a period of 2 years. Members of the executive committee have the authority to approve the activities, budget, annual audit report, approval of different policies of the organization and monitoring the ongoing programs or project over areas.

Considering the said painful situation PROTTASHA FOUNDATION was established in January 1999 for sustainable socio-economic development of the poor and marginal people. This organization started its activities by the inspiration of some Doctor for the social economic development of the distressed and disadvantages people of the society. Though the organization started its activities in 1999 but its necessity felt in the considering the social environment. In the inception 10 nos. volunteer took the development training by the help of local generous people and subscriptions of the committee members. They started their work among the distressed and landless woman to build up their self-confidence and awareness and to establish their fundamental rights. The organization started to gather the distressed people by forming group through its group development plan. After that the organization took the following activities implementing multi-dimensional programs very intensively with the technical and financial support of National & International donor agencies Non-formal education program, Encourage for savings. Create opportunity to use the wealth or resources. Income generating program to use the local resources and savings of the group members. In this way the organization gradually extended its activities covering the areas of Mymensingh,Sherpur,Netrokona ,Kishorgong Natore, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Panchgor, Kustia, Sirajgonj and Costral areas in Greater Barisal,  and Greater Chattagram  district.
